Another hard fought weekend for Mutch

Praga R1

Saturday was another outing for the Praga's and Gordie Mutch in the 2 Hour endurance event at Silverstone, and the Zone Recruitment team were trackside to back our driver once again!

Starting the day right, Gordie and Ash got the car to P2 on the grid during qualifying, setting up a seriously promising race!

The race itself arrived and was a tense affair!....the first stint saw Ash in the car, and hanging on to 2nd place (just off the lead the car) before rain came down and the car had a bit of a spin, bringing Ash in to the pits and putting Gordie in to the car for his stint!

Gordie drove like a man possessed after a slight spin during the opening part of his stint, banging in consistent fastest lap after fastest lap, making the rest of the field look as though they were standing still at points! How ever, the cloud of bad luck returned, with a penalty for speeding in the pitlane, followed by another penalty for overtaking under yellow flag conditions, all compounded by a catastrophic error from the team, as they under fuelled the car, causing a retirement with only 5 minutes of the race to run.

A hard end, to what was an incredibly promising start and drive. But we know Gordie will dust himself off and go again at the next rounds, no doubt more determined than ever and ready to blow away the bad luck!
