Job Description

Our client operates across the South West and Wales. They work with a wide variety of clients across many sectors including charitable trusts, local authorities, private landowners and agricultural establishments.


They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join their growing South Wales based team.


The successful candidate must posses;


Degree in Ecology or related biological science subject

Full member of CIEEM

Natural England bat licence (e.g. class licence CL18 level 2 or above)

Experience in acting as the named ecologist on EPSL (development) licences for a range of bat species

Excellent field skills and experienced in undertaking Phase 1 habitat surveys as well as a range of protected species surveys in addition to bats

Experienced report writer who applies attention to detail

Excellent understanding of ecological issues in the planning system

Experience of managing projects including tendering, client liaison and communication with Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) and Statutory Nature Conservation Organisations (e.g. Natural England)


You will be expected to oversee works conducted by Junior Ecologists, liaise with clients and help develop new business opportunities to help the business go forward. Due to the nature of the work, some travel will be required so a full UK driving license will be essential.
